Crossguide Directional Coupler

Introduction

Crossguide Directional Coupler is a general microwave/millimeter wave component that can be used for signal isolation, separation and mixing, such as power monitoring, source output power levelling, signal source isolation, and frequency sweep testing of transmission and reflection. The main technical indicators are directivity, standing wave ratio, coupling, and insertion loss.

Structure

Crossguide Directional Coupler is composed of transmission lines. Coaxial lines, rectangular waveguides, circular waveguides, striplines and microstrip lines can all form directional couplers. Therefore, there are many types of directional couplers in terms of structure, with great differences. But from the perspective of its coupling mechanism, it is mainly divided into four types, namely pinhole coupling, parallel coupling, branch coupling and matching double T.

Application
