Introduction
The surface thermocouple probe is specially used to measure the surface temperature of various shapes of solid media, as well as the internal temperature of liquid, gas, and rubber. It has a wide range of applications, is not limited by the surface shape of objects, is light in shape, and is easy to carry. It is especially suitable for processing sites and is widely used in textile, printing and dyeing, paper making, plastic, rubber, and other industrial sectors.
Fundamental
Two conductors or semiconductors A and B of different materials are welded together to form a closed loop. When there is a temperature difference between the two sticking points 1 and 2 of conductors A and B, an electromotive force is generated between the two, thus forming a large current in the loop, which is called the thermoelectric effect. Thermocouples use this effect to work.
Installation method
1. First, measure the dimensions of the thermocouple and thermal resistance flange or thread, and process the flange or thread base.
2. Make holes in the pipe to be measured according to the dimensions of the flange or thread base.
3. Welding of flange or screw seat Insert the flange seat or threaded base into the opened hole and weld the flange seat or threaded base with the measured pipe.
4. Screw the surface thermocouple with bolts or threads into the welded threaded base.
5. Connect the junction box of the thermocouple or thermal resistance according to the wiring diagram and connect it with the corresponding display instrument on the dial. Note that the junction box cannot contact the wall of the measured medium pipe, and ensure that the temperature in the junction box does not exceed 100 ° C. The outlet hole of the junction box shall prevent a short circuit of the terminal due to sealing, moisture, and dust deposition.
6. The installation position of the thermocouple shall consider the convenience of maintenance and repair.

Working principle
When two different conductors are close to forming a circuit, the potential will occur in the circuit. The magnitude of this potential is directly related to the temperature difference between the two contacts. This phenomenon is called the thermoelectric effect. The temperature sensing element made of the surface thermocouple by thermoelectric effect is a thermocouple, and the thermometer made of the thermocouple as the temperature sensing element is a thermocouple thermometer.
In classical electronic theory, thermoelectric potential consists of thermoelectric potential and approximate potential. The thermoelectric potential is caused by the temperature difference between the two ends of a homogeneous conductor. Proximity potential refers to the potential formed when two different conductors A and B are close, due to the difference in free electron density between them, electron diffusion occurs at the approach point. The approach potential is not only a function of temperature t, but also contributes more to the thermal potential than the thermoelectric potential. The thermoelectric potential of the thermocouple due to temperature change is measured, and the temperature value that causes the thermoelectric potential can be known according to the functional relationship between the thermoelectric potential and temperature change.

② Wide measuring range. Common thermocouples can be continuously measured from - 50~+1600 ℃. Some special thermocouples can measure from - 269 ℃ to - 269 ℃ (such as gold, iron, nickel, and chromium) at low temperatures and from+2800 ℃ to+2800 ℃ (such as tungsten rhenium) at high temperatures.
③ The structure is simple and convenient to use. Thermocouples are usually composed of two different types of metal wires and are not limited by size and head. They are equipped with protective sleeves, which are very convenient to use.
