Type K Temperature Sensor

Introduction

The Type K Temperature Sensor can sense the temperature and convert it into a usable output signal. Temperature sensor is the core part of temperature measuring instrument, and there are many kinds. According to the measurement method, it can be divided into contact type and non-contact type. According to the characteristics of sensor materials and electronic components, it can be divided into thermal resistance and thermocouple.

Type

The contact method between the Type K Temperature Sensor and the measured medium is divided into two categories: contact type and non-contact type.

The contact temperature sensor needs to maintain thermal contact with the measured medium, so that the two can achieve the same temperature through sufficient heat exchange. This type of sensor mainly includes resistance type, thermocouple, PN junction temperature sensor and so on.

The non-contact temperature sensor does not need to be in contact with the measured medium, but reaches the temperature sensor through the thermal radiation or convection of the measured medium to achieve the purpose of temperature measurement. This type of sensor mainly includes infrared temperature sensor. The main feature of this temperature measurement method is that it can measure the temperature of substances in motion (such as the bearing temperature of a slow-moving train, the temperature of a rotating cement kiln) and objects with small heat capacity (such as the temperature distribution in an integrated circuit).

Install and use

When installing and using the Type K Temperature Sensor, the Errors caused by improper installation should be paid attention to to ensure the best measurement effect:

1. The thermocouple should not be installed too close to the door and heating, and the insertion depth should be at least 8 to 10 times the diameter of the protection tube;

2. The gap between the thermocouple protection tube and the furnace wall hole should be blocked with insulating materials such as refractory mud or asbestos rope to prevent the convection of cold and hot air from affecting the accuracy of temperature measurement;

3. The cold end of the thermocouple is too close to the furnace body so that the temperature exceeds 100 °C;

4. The installation of the thermocouple should avoid strong magnetic field and electric field as much as possible, so the thermocouple and the power cable should not be installed in the same conduit to avoid errors caused by the introduction of interference;

5. Thermocouples cannot be installed in areas where the measured medium rarely flows, when using a thermocouple to measure the temperature of the gas in the tube, the thermocouple must be installed against the direction of the flow rate and fully in contact with the gas.
