What is waveguide tube?

1.Product Introduction

A Waveguide tube is a hollow metal pipe that acts as an electromagnetic feed line for use in RF & microwave communications, broadcasting, radar applications, etc. This metal tube or pipe comes in various shapes and sizes and propagates electromagnetic waves lengthwise.
Electromagnetic fields propagate along a waveguide tube in various ways. Two common modes are transverse-magnetic (TM) and transverse-electric (TE). In TM mode, the magnetic lines of flux are perpendicular to the axis (along the length) of the waveguide tube. In TE mode, the electric lines of flux are perpendicular to the axis of the waveguide tube. These modes of propagation provide low loss and high efficiency as long as the interior of the waveguide tube is kept clean and dry.
2.Product Feature

Waveguide tubes are available in various cross-section shapes like rectangle, oval, circle, double-ridge, and square. They are made of standard dielectric or conductive metals such as Copper, Bronze, Brass, Aluminum, Nickel Iron,Cupro-Nickel Alloy, Invar (Nickel Alloy), etc. Waveguide tubes made of dielectric materials can confine electromagnetic waves by total internal reflection and hence provide lower losses than metal waveguide tubing.Waveguide tubing can also be made flexible using materials like brass and phosphorous bronze for manufacture. The size and shape of the waveguide cross-section, the material used, wall thickness, length, etc. properties of the waveguide tube are decided according to the frequency of the waves that will pass through them and their applications.
3.Product Advantage
● Small standing wave, low insertion loss
● Large length production, easy to install
● Good tensile and softness
● Strong corrosion resistance and anti-corrosion ability
4.Working Principle
Different from GSM-R mode for two-way transmission of vehicle-ground wireless signal in the national high-speed railway signal system, directional antenna, leaky cable and crack waveguide mode are mostly used in subway signals. "In the above three modes, the crack waveguide mode is widely used because of its wide transmission frequency band, small transmission loss, high reliability and strong anti-interference ability. For example, the two-way transmission of vehicle-ground wireless signals in the signal system of Shanghai Metro Line 16, which was initially opened and operated at the end of 2012, uses this mode. Waveguide can be divided into ordinary waveguide and crack waveguide two kinds.
Ordinary waveguide is a hollow, the inner wall is very smooth metal conduit or metal coated tube, waveguide used to transmit ultra-high frequency electromagnetic waves, common cross-section shape rectangular and circular, through its pulse signal can be transmitted to the destination with minimal loss. The inner diameter of the waveguide varies depending on the wavelength of the transmitted signal. The waveguide takes on the characteristics of a high-pass filter in the circuit: signals above the cutoff frequency are allowed to pass through, while signals below the cutoff frequency are blocked or attenuated.
5.Construction Technique
The waveguide section installation consists of the waveguide assembly and the terminal components at both ends. A fixed bracket is installed in each waveguide section. Due to temperature changes, the waveguide can expand outward from the fixed bracket. In order to expand the waveguide easily, the sliding support is installed at a fixed distance, which is easy to slide the waveguide. Waveguide installation takes 5 steps
6.Product Application

Waveguide tubes are used as a transmission line mostly at microwave frequencies, for connecting microwave transmitters and receivers to their antennas, in equipment such as microwave ovens, radar sets, satellite communications, and microwave radio links. They are important components in defense, aerospace, telecommunications, fabrication, etc. industries.
